Raised in the heart of Wyoming's Wind River Indian Reservation, Americana singer-songwriter and story teller Mike River, has fronting several fire breathing cowpunk alt-country bands in Denver and the Rocky Mountain area over the last several decades.
In recent years he has relocated to eastern Tennessee and returned to his musical roots, populating his songs with people, places and sacred stories; paying tribute to the past with the descriptive flair of a seasoned screenwriter, offering up vivid vignettes that feel lived in and relatable.
“Pulling Sorrow,” Mike River’s latest album, offers a flavorful mix of classic country and the finest Americana that paints an evocative picture of his life, past and present, and represent the veteran songwriter’s finest work to date. This latest release features a stellar cast of all star musicians including appearances by award winning country producer John Macy, Jeremy Lawton (Big Head Todd and the Monsters), Rhett Lee and Colin Burke (Carolyn's Mother), Gregg Gibb (Rubber Planet) and Craig Dubin (Rexway).
